What is the difference between the Clek Foonf and Fllo? This is a question that we often hear from our customers and I will answer it in this blog post!
The Clek Foonf and Fllo are both top-of-the-line convertible car seats that are designed with many innovative safety features that keep your child protected and give parent’s peace of mind while travelling. However, there are a few differences between the two seats that will determine which convertible car seat is best suited to your needs.
THE LATCH (UAS) SYSTEM & INSTALLATION:
The Clek Foonf was designed with a Rigid-LATCH (UAS) System (a fixed bracket incorporated into the frame) that makes forward-facing installation much more streamlined, while the Clek Fllo is designed to connect to the LATCH with its flexible tether straps. For parents who plan on installing the seat in the forward facing position using the LATCH (UAS) system, the Foonf is the optimal choice. Parents who are planning on using the seat until the maximum rear-facing limit and then moving into a booster seat within the following year, or if you’re planning on installing three car seats in a row and do not have the LATCH (UAS) system in every space, the Fllo would be the most suitable choice.
Both Clek convertible car seats feature a safety system that keeps your child protected during a collision. The reason the seats are designed with slightly different safety systems is due to the variation between the bases. The Fllo incorporates an Automotive Inspired Crumple Technology, which works similarly to the REACT Safety System on the Foonf, the difference is that the honeycomb core is positioned differently on the seat.
The Fllo is slightly more lightweight and designed to sit 1.5 inches lower than the Foonf, when installed in rear-facing position, which results in more visibility for the driver and passenger. The Fllo’s lightweight design makes installing and removing the car seat much more manageable.
WHICH SEAT IS THE SAFEST?
Both of the Clek convertible car seats are safe! The way you can determine which one is the safest for your child is by choosing the one that fits your child, fits your vehicle, and is used correctly. When choosing between the Foonf and Fllo you need to consider the method of installation. If you are installing the seat in the forward-facing position with LATCH (UAS), the Foonf is recommended because of the REACT Safety System that is specifically designed to work with a Rigid-LATCH (UAS). Otherwise, the Fllo would be the better option.
